ground clearance
hunk o' beef was always intended to have a high ground clearance, enabling a 'go anywhere' role. Here, a member of the 'grunt' volunteers to watch as the truck rolls over him; in fact, there's a little extra room, and a gnat can just fit underneath the vessel.
The images show as the truck moves forward, the volunteer is completely untouched.
